In a relatively short time, Eastman have gone on to earn a reputation for their exceptional quality and craftsmanship which is why their guitars are being used everywhere from the the bedroom to the world stage! It was only logical then, that Eastman should branch out into mandolins, ukuleles, electric guitars and flat top acoustic guitars too. Eastman Guitars as we know them today, was established soon after with an emphasis on producing high quality, high value, affordable guitars. After earning a reputation for his fine stringed instruments and bows, Qian decided to branch out into archtop guitars. Subsequently, he hired a group of highly skilled violin makers and went on to establish a large workshop where they could produce high quality, handcrafted instruments.

Having previously bought his instruments from Western trained Violin makers in China, Qian decided that a different approach was needed. Eastman Strings was founded in 1992 by Qian Ni, a student from China who moved to America to study music.
